The administration together with the SRC of Accra Technical University is at it again as they try their possible best to make education fun with the popular welcome celebration for freshers.

'Akwaaba' week celebration as it is popularly called in this tertiary instiution commenced on the 18th of March 2024 with the presence of the dean of students and SRC executives to announce its official launch. This happened after a health walk on saturday, 16th of March 2024 to boost their system for the upcoming celebration. The event continued with a football tournament between prominent football clubs on campus and ended with some evening jams.

The next day which happened to be a wednesday, the 19th of March 2024 started with a football match between the SRC executives and departmental presidents of Accra Technical University, followed by the qualifiers of the previous football tournament. The night ended with a movie night at the school's auditorium with a red carpet session showcasing the beautiful outfits and designs students slayed at the event.

Yesterday was no dull moment as cowbell hosted a talent competition on ATU's campus, giving out a lot of amazing prices to participants and winners of the competition. A talkshow was held with popular comedian Romanus, content creator, Kwadwo Sheldon and other prominent people gracing the occasion. 

A DJ battle was held between some of the most talented DJ's on campus, namely DJ helmet and DJ Slim boy with the latter emerging as the ultimate winner after capturing the heart and attention of the crowd with his back to back bangers. The day finally ended with popular Ghanaian singer, sister Afia gracing the stage with a beautiful perfomance.

The celebration is still ongoing and today happens to be the grand finale of the Mr and Mrs Akwaaba beauty contest. Stay tuned for more updates.
